Job Summary:

This position will support the 4tell Solutions field sales team and be based in MA, NH, CT or ME. The Pre-Sales System Engineer is to provide prospective customers with technical and functional expertise, build quality relationships with both IT and the Business, conduct thorough needs analysis for targeted demonstrations, uncover potential objections, and assist in defining the competitive landscape. This will include activities such as needs analysis calls (discovery calls), filling out RFPs, product presentations, integration or data import assessment, technical deep dives, follow-up calls, one-off demonstrations with the intent to educate, and work with Professional Services to create the “complete solution” during the pre-sales process. S/He will be able to solve complex problems, answer prospects’ and team members’ detailed product questions, prepare and perform detailed product demonstrations. This individual will operate under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent action.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Performs extensive needs analysis and client contact before product demonstration.
  • Performs focused product demonstrations.
  • Responds to RFPs with great detail and professionalism.
  • Assists sales managers/sales reps in preparation of proposals.
  • Answers one-off questions from potential customers.
  • Maintains and continually upgrades technical understanding of products.
  • Provides technical and product leadership and ensures technical issues are resolved.
  • Work with Product Management to enhance solution offering, provide feedback and direction from the field.
  • Visit customers, help develop relationships to provide insight and value-add to the sales cycle.
  • Work closely with Professional Services to sell services and provide detailed Statements of Work.
  • May provide work leadership to more junior technical support staff.
  • Travels within assigned territory as required.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Job and work experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science.
  • Three to five years of pre-sales systems engineering experience directly supporting enterprise sales engagements.
  • Preferred working experience with: Enterprise Asset Management (EAM), Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), Computer Aided Facility Management (CAFM) or Integrated Workplace Management (IWMS). For example: Maximo, Infor, Archibus, Autodesk, Tririga, Trimble or Accruent.
  • Major ERP platforms (e.g. SAP, Oracle, etc.) or implementation experience is a bonus.

Additional skills and knowledge requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts and processes to the “common person”
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex pre-sales technical problems, working with field sales personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to present technical concepts in clear manner to customers through demos and proposals
  • Excellent and professional writing, editing, and communication skills are required
  • Ability to work externally and internally with all levels of the organization

Working for Us:

4tell™ has offices in Portland, ME and Toronto Canada. This position will support the 4tell Solutions field sales team and be based in MA, NH, CT or ME. Domestic travel is expected to be 50%. No relocation is provided for this role.

Compensation is competitive, composed of base salary and standard 4tell™ benefits. This role reports directly to the VP of Sales.
