Open Position - Director of Sales

4tell™ Solutions, LLC is looking for a Director of Sales to join its dynamic and rapidly growing organization. This position will report to the company’s Senior Vice President of Business Development and will be responsible for implementing a national direct and partner sales strategy across multiple vertical markets.

4tell’s growth strategy requires that the Company operate at a demanding pace. This key position will enjoy a high level of customer activity requiring the development of multi-level relationships and simultaneously bringing numerous transactions through to successful conclusion. The Company seeks a strong, innovative and experienced individual who is committed to growing with the Company in its Portland, Maine headquarters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sales activities.
  • Work collaboratively to develop and implement overall sales strategies.
  • Develop, execute and report on quarterly and annual sales plans.
  • Hire and supervise sales team.
  • Provide sales staff with technical/sales training.
  • Maintain client relationships and negotiate and close sales with key strategic clients and prospects.
  • Work closely internally with Business Development, Marketing, Client Services/Implementation, and Technology functions while maintaining focus on the Company’s strategic goals.
  • Coordinate sales operations and processes with all other departments/divisions of the Company.
  • Analyze sales statistics to determine business growth potential and direction.
  • Establish performance goals for all sales department employees and monitor performance on a continual basis.
  • Participate with the Senior Management Team in the development of the Strategic Sales Plan for the Company.
  • Develop and/or maintain and improve business relations with all clients of the company.
  • Seek out and target new clients and new sales opportunities, initiate action plan to approach and secure new business for the Company.
  • Monitor and analyze sales, market and competitive trends. Understand and take advantage of Federal and State funding programs and ARRA funding opportunities related to energy efficiency, environmental, and/or lifecycle asset management.
  • Manage and complete responses to relevant RFI’s and RFP’S.
  • Establish sales policies and procedures.
 

Professional Requirements

Candidates for this position should have a college degree with at least 10 years of relevant, demonstrably successful experience directing a professional solution-based sales effort, preferably in a senior position involving technology and implementation sales in the built environment. Specific requirements include:

  • College degree with business, technology, or related focus.
  • 10 or more years experience developing and executing ambitious sales strategies and programs.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic and tactical sales plans including quotas and account objectives.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication listening skills.
  • Superior listening skills with demonstrated ability to understand customer needs and requirements and to apply appropriate solutions.
  • Strong negotiating skills and capacity.
  • Highly organized, ability to multi-task, persevere and prioritize using independent judgment in a demanding, collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Professional approach with a high degree of integrity reflecting and creating a positive image of the Company.
  • Self motivated and very organized to coordinate and manage large volume of material and multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, and successfully conclude sales on a very ambitious timeline.
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Visio, MS Project, Outlook, CRM tools, etc.
  • 4tell is growing rapidly with a leading edge Sustainable Performance Governance Solution. It is a very demanding and entrepreneurial environment that is fun and rewarding, but requires a high level of commitment: this position is not 9-5 and will require minimum 50% travel.

Highly Desirable

  • Knowledge of and/or background in energy efficiency solutions for the built environment.
  • Real estate, facility management, workplace management experience with strong technology focus. Knowledge of IWMS, CMMS, EAM or related systems.
